Pittwater is a very popular and scenic spot, so parking is available but limited, so please allow sufficient time for finding your spot. Public Transport is available, too. Check out our location page for more detailed information.

We do have most paddling apparel and accessory items stocked in our store, however out of season apparel and popular items may be out of stock but we can get stock in quickly from most of our suppliers. We will let you know as soon as possible. Our most popular kayaks, stand up boards and skis are available in either demo or hire models, and we do keep limited stock of new models for purchase. Most kayaks come in various colours or layups, so on behalf of our customers, we can order in the craft in the specified model for purchase. Call head and we can confirm for you any specific item that you may be interested in purchasing.

We have two different types of kayaks, sit on top kayaks and sit in kayaks, and both come in either single or double models. Sit on top kayaks are very stable, even allowing paddlers to jump on and off without capsizing or being able to sit on the side of them with your feet dangling in the water and very easy to get on and off. The sit on top kayak also has water drain holes, allowing the water to flow in and out and are great for kids and people wanting to fish.

Sit In Kayaks offer a different paddling experience and suits a paddler with a bit more experience and fitness! The sit in kayaks feature a cockpit that requires some flexibility in the entry of the kayak. The seat generally provides better support, is overall a dryer paddle without water holes and the smooth bottomed hull provides more speed but less stability.

Optional – shoes that can get wet and suitable for light bush walking like flat sandals, running shoes, and swim / deck shoes. I haven’t paddled before, is this OK? Yes, we have a wide range of kayaks that are suitable for beginners to experienced paddlers, but all craft do require a moderate fitness level and good water confidence & swimming ability. Choose the model that suits your personal fitness level and experience.

We do have sit on top kayaks that are very stable and each paddler is required to wear a personal flotation device, however kayaking as a water sports has inherent risks. Please evaluate the weather conditions and craft suitability before choosing this activity.

Yes! You will get wet getting in and out of the kayak, and will be splashed by water when paddling, so you will end up wet by the end of your paddle. You may also be visiting beautiful swimming areas, so you may want to take a dip!

All children, age 15 years and under, need to be accompanied by an adult on the water. The minimum age for children on the water is to be 6 years old and small children must be accompanied by adults on our sit on top singles or doubles.

We check the weather forecasts every day and will know within 24 hours if the weather forecast indicates unsafe conditions, particularly high winds. If we do need to cancel, we will contact you and you will be given the option of a full refund or to transfer to another day.

No refunds will be given for hire cancellations within 24 hours by the paddler but we are happy to reschedule your hire booking at another time that suits you. If you cancel more than 24 hours prior to your tour, and we are notified in writing, we will provide a full refund if you are unable to reschedule.

Can I bring a camera or phone when I am paddling? If your camera or phone is waterproof, bring it along. We do have bags for your use but please note we do not take responsibility for any water damage to your camera or any other electronic items.

Pittwater is a unique natural environment and for various weather conditions, we can recommend different routes of varying durations to take full advantage of the daily prevailing winds. We are located about 20 minutes from Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and many of the park bays and creeks can be enjoyed in most weather and wind conditions.

For most of the year, Sydney’s weather is fabulous to explore the outdoors, and most times, we find that dressing for sun protection is still essential, however please review the typical seasonal when planning what to wear.
